It is very common for people who are training to experience tension, tightness, and/or limited range of motion. We are able to release these aches and pains through manual manipulations, stretching and light massage. This trigger point therapy can also aid in the rebuilding process of the muscle and the soft tissue and has been proven to help alleviate chronic pain.
In fitness and health it is important for you to gain the education and knowledge so that you may continue to achieve your fitness goals independently. At One Body Fitness our goal is to turn you into an independent workout machine!
Drink .6 ounces of water times your bodyweight per day . Most people do not drink enough water. Your body needs enough water to ensure that your metabolism is working at maximum efficiency. Substitute water for soft drinks and juice. You will decrease your calorie intake while maintaining proper hydration.
Plan a week's worth of meals in advance before going to the grocery store. It is much easier to stick with a diet if you have a diet to stick to! When possible, buy organic foods because they lack chemicals and hormones found in regular produce.
Eat 6 small meals about every 3 hours. This gives your body a steady source of energy as well as raises your metabolic rate. Don't skip breakfast; this should be your biggest meal of the day. Eat protein and a fruit or vegetable with every meal.
Use the hungry technique. After you eat a meal, you should still feel hungry and ready to eat again because you are eating a smaller meal. Remember, to keep the following sizes in mind for meal portions; palm for protein, fist for carbohydrates, and half dollar for fat.
Substitute Almond Milk for Cow's milk. Remember, cow's milk is designed for growing a 90 pound calf into a 2000 pound cow. Cow's milk contains a very high level of lactose, the sugar found in dairy.
Limit Alcoholic Beverages. Alcohol raises the levels of hydrochloric acid which can interfere with the digestive process. Additionally, alcohol contains urethane, raises your blood sugar levels, and falsely increases your appetite. Each gram of alcohol is about 7.5 calories which is equivalent to about 1 gram of fat.
Avoid artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners are highly acid forming and when they enter your body they interfere with the body's natural pH balance. When the body's pH levels become imbalanced, fat tissue is more easily stored.
Avoid sodas and diet sodas because they contain high levels of phosphorus which can increase calcium loss. Diet soda contains Aspartame which has been linked with several debilitating diseases such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, and diabetes.
Limit coffee to one cup a day. Coffee contains caffeine that is known to cause headaches, digestive problems, irritation of the stomach and bladder, peptic ulcers, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, anxiety and depression. Also caffeine spikes insulin levels that can cause the body to accumulate fat cells more rapidly.
